Beginning with the word Zoom, fifteen participants were invited to closely observe natural objects and imagine what they could become. Their responses were translated through AI into a collection of visual narratives, documenting not only the resulting images but also the evolving relationship between human perception, imagination, and machine interpretation.

Zoom이라는 단어에서 출발한 이번 issue는 참여자 15명에게 자연물을 가까이 관찰하고 새로운 가능성을 상상해 보도록 제안했습니다. 각자의 답변은 AI를 통해 새로운 이미지로 번역되었으며, 결과뿐 아니라 인간의 감각과 상상, 그리고 AI의 해석이 만나는 과정을 함께 기록합니다.

By looking closer, familiar objects begin to reveal unexpected forms, stories, and possibilities. Rather than searching for correct answers, this issue explores how different people perceive the same object in radically different ways, turning observation into imagination.

가까이 들여다볼수록 익숙한 자연물은 예상하지 못한 형태와 이야기, 새로운 가능성을 드러냅니다. 이번 issue는 정답을 찾기보다, 같은 대상을 바라보는 서로 다른 시선이 어떻게 새로운 상상으로 이어지는지를 탐구합니다.

This issue is built around a collaborative research process.

Fifteen participants responded to the same prompt, each contributing a unique way of seeing. These responses became the starting point for AI interpretation, demonstrating that technology can amplify human diversity rather than standardize it.

Instead of documenting images alone, the project archives the questions, interpretations, and creative decisions that shaped them.

이번 issue는 하나의 질문을 함께 탐구하는 협업 리서치로 구성되었습니다.

15명의 참여자는 같은 질문에 서로 다른 방식으로 응답했고, 각각의 해석은 AI가 새로운 이미지를 생성하기 위한 출발점이 되었습니다.

Every image in this issue is accompanied by an Interpretation Note, documenting how human observations evolved into AI-generated imagery.

Rather than revealing prompts as technical instructions, these notes expose the translation process itself—showing how intuition, language, and imagination are interpreted across human and machine perspectives.

The second issue of ANREAL INDEX explores what happens when authorship becomes shared.

Beginning with the word Yield, this issue invites readers to reconsider the balance between intention, chance, and AI. Rather than presenting a fixed narrative, it offers an open system where stories emerge through participation, rearrangement, and interpretation.

언리얼인덱스의 두 번째 issue는 창작이 창작자에게서 시작되고 끝나는 것이 아니라, 여러 주체를 거치며 만들어지는 과정임을 탐구합니다.

Yield라는 단어에서 출발한 이번 issue는 인간의 의도와 우연, 그리고 AI 사이의 관계를 다시 질문합니다. 하나의 완성된 이야기를 제시하는 대신, 참여와 재배열, 해석을 통해 이야기가 계속 만들어지는 열린 시스템을 제안합니다.

Yield is both an action and a question.

In every creative process, we inevitably give something away—to language, to materials, to systems, or to AI. This issue explores what remains ours, what becomes shared, and how meaning continues to evolve through that exchange.

Rather than asking who controls the outcome, [Y] Yield asks how creativity changes when authorship is continuously negotiated.

Yield는 하나의 행위이자 질문입니다.

모든 창작 과정에서 우리는 언어와 재료, 시스템, 그리고 AI에 일정 부분을 내어줍니다. 이번 issue는 그 과정에서 무엇은 우리의 것으로 남고, 무엇은 공유되며, 의미는 어떻게 계속 변화하는지를 탐구합니다.

결과를 누가 통제하는가보다, 창작이 여러 주체를 거치며 어떻게 새롭게 형성되는지에 주목합니다.

This issue functions as an open narrative system rather than a finished story.

Readers are invited to connect, rearrange, and reinterpret language using a set of die-cut word discs. Every combination creates a different narrative, making each reading a unique act of participation.

The work does not seek a single meaning, but creates a framework where interpretation continues to grow through every reader's decision.

The visual language of [Y] Yield is generated through a custom-built program that transforms language into visual structures.

These computational outputs are combined with physical composition and human intervention, allowing digital systems and human choices to coexist within the same process.

Rather than presenting a completed object, the project continues to evolve through every interaction and every new interpretation.

[Y] Yield의 시각 언어는 문장을 시각적 구조로 변환하는 자체 프로그램에서 시작됩니다.

이렇게 생성된 결과 위에 물리적인 조합과 인간의 선택이 더해지며, 디지털 시스템과 인간의 개입이 하나의 과정 안에서 함께 작동합니다.

이 작업은 완성된 결과물을 제시하기보다, 독자의 참여와 새로운 해석을 통해 계속해서 변화하는 과정을 담고 있습니다.

우리는 어느 때보다 빠르게 답을 만들 수 있는 시대에 살고 있습니다. 하지만 같은 도구를 사용하더라도, 어떤 질문을 던지느냐에 따라 전혀 다른 결과가 만들어집니다.

ANREAL INDEX는 질문이 하나의 경험으로 발전하는 과정을 탐구합니다.

〈STILL ASKING〉은 자신의 관심을 하나의 질문으로 발전시키고, 이를 다양한 매체와 형식으로 실험하는 언리얼인덱스의 프로그램입니다.

첫 번째 프로그램은 ANREAL INDEX Issue No.2 [Y] YIELD에서 출발합니다. Issue Y는 독자가 조각난 단어를 선택하고 연결하며, 의도와 우연 사이에서 새로운 의미를 만들어가는 책입니다.

이번 프로그램에서는 이러한 방식을 디지털 경험으로 확장해 각자의 질문을 Type-Reactive Web으로 구현합니다. 텍스트를 입력하면 글자와 형태, 움직임이 반응하는 웹을 제작하고, 이를 반복해서 사용하며 질문이 변화하고 확장되는 과정을 탐구합니다.

각자의 질문을 함께 발전시키고 충분한 피드백을 주고받기 위해 소규모로 진행합니다.
